Donald Trump was at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when a gunman fired at him while he was in the middle of a speech. The first bullet appeared to graze his ear, causing him to hold his ear and quickly fall to the ground. Armed security swiftly surrounded him as more shots were fired. It’s unclear if any other shots struck Trump or the severity of his injuries, but he managed to rise to his feet, raise his arm defiantly, and was escorted off the stage by security.
Details about the shooter remain unclear, but “Shooter down” was heard through the podium microphone. Despite the incident, Trump was well enough to ask security, “Let me get my shoes.”
